How we work

Clear aligners, planned well

Honest suitability

Are Invisalign clear braces right for me?

Clear aligners treat a wide range of crowding, spacing and bite issues effectively, but tooth movement still requires healthy gums, a stable bite, and consistent aligner wear. We assess what Invisalign can realistically achieve before recommending it, and we are equally honest when a different approach would serve you better.

  • 22-hour wear - Aligners work best when worn all day except for meals and cleaning.

Patient benefits

Why patients choose Invisalign

Patients choose Invisalign for the discretion, the flexibility, and the fact that treatment is properly supervised by a clinician who understands what is happening beyond the aligner trays.

  • Virtually undetectable

Clear aligners are barely noticeable in conversation or photographs. A real advantage in professional and social life.

  • Removes for eating and brushing

No food restrictions, no brackets to work around. Oral hygiene remains straightforward throughout treatment.

  • Clinically supervised movement

Every stage is monitored in person. Gum health, root position and bite are checked at each review, not just the aligner fit.

  • Retention planned early

Retainers are built into the plan so your result is protected after aligner treatment finishes.

Clinical assessment

What we review before recommending Invisalign

Clear aligner treatment is planned in the clinic, not posted to you. These are the clinical factors we assess before confirming suitability and designing your treatment.

Certified provider

Treatment planned and supervised by our Invisalign-trained dentist. This helps us plan invisalign clear braces around your real starting point, rather than relying on a generic treatment pathway.

iTero digital scan

Precise 3D records without messy impressions where possible. We explain what we find clearly, including where a more cautious or staged approach would protect the final result.

3D preview

See a simulation of your planned result before you start. Small details at this stage can change comfort, appearance and longevity, so we take time before recommending treatment.

22-hour wear

Aligners work best when worn all day except for meals and cleaning. The aim is a plan that feels considered, predictable and appropriate for your long-term oral health.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers about Invisalign, suitability, timelines, what daily wear involves and what happens after treatment ends.

How long does Invisalign take?

Simple cases may finish in around six months; complex cases can take 18–24 months or longer. At consultation, we will give you a realistic timeline for your mouth rather than a one-size-fits-all answer.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Mild pressure for a few days when changing aligners is normal, not usually described as painful. We will keep you comfortable, explain what is normal afterwards, and give you clear guidance on when to contact us.

Can I drink coffee with aligners in?

Only plain water with aligners in. Hot or coloured drinks can stain trays and increase decay risk. We will look at your natural teeth, smile and expectations first, then guide you towards a result that feels balanced rather than overdone.

What if I lose an aligner?

Contact us promptly, we advise whether to move to the next set or replace the current one. We will talk this through with you carefully and make sure you understand the next step before making any decision.

Will I need retainers?

Yes - retainers are essential. Aligners move teeth, but they will drift back without retention. After Invisalign we fit retainers, usually clear removable ones and sometimes a fixed wire behind the front teeth, then explain exactly how to wear them. Wearing them as advised is what keeps your result stable long term.

Am I too old for braces?

Many adults straighten their teeth successfully, age is rarely a barrier if gums and teeth are healthy. We will talk this through with you carefully and make sure you understand the next step before making any decision.

How do I book a invisalign clear braces consultation at Bridge Dental?

Use our online booking link or call reception. We will confirm appointment length, what to bring, and whether any preparatory steps are needed. If you are unsure what to book, our reception team can guide you gently to the right appointment.

Are guide fees fixed before treatment?

We provide written estimates from our published fee guide. If your clinical needs change after assessment, we discuss any difference before proceeding. Before you commit, we will talk through the likely fee range and any choices that could affect the final plan.

What are Invisalign aligners, and what happens at the 3D scan?

Invisalign aligners are clear, removable trays custom-made to move your teeth in small, planned steps. At your consultation we take a digital 3D scan of your teeth - no messy impressions - which is used to design your sequence of aligners and show you a preview of the planned movement. You change to a new set every one to two weeks as directed, with in-clinic reviews to check progress.
