How we work

Urgent care, calmly handled

Honest suitability

What counts as a dental emergency?

Not every dental problem needs to be seen the same day, and it helps to know which ones do. These are the signs that should prompt you to call us promptly, and the situations where we will direct you to more appropriate care if needed.

✓ Suitable if

  • Severe pain - Pain that keeps you awake or is not controlled with pharmacy pain relief.
  • Facial swelling - Swelling around the jaw, eye or neck needs prompt assessment.
  • Trauma - Knocked-out, loosened or fractured teeth after an accident.
  • Bleeding - Bleeding after an extraction that does not ease with pressure.

! May not be suitable if

  • Life-threatening swelling or breathing difficulty (call 999)
  • Routine cleaning or cosmetic work
  • Second opinions without records when urgent slots are limited
  • Non-urgent orthodontic adjustments

Our standard of care

The same standard of care, whatever the urgency

At Bridge Dental, an urgent appointment carries the same standard of clinical care as any other. We diagnose properly, explain clearly, and plan for the long term, even when time is short.

  • Proper diagnosis first

We identify the cause before treating it. Pain relief that masks an undiagnosed problem is not good care.

  • Calm under pressure

Urgency does not change how we work. You receive the same considered care as any planned appointment.

  • Clear explanation always

Before any further treatment, you understand what has happened, what your options are and what each costs.

  • Same-day priorities

We focus first on pain relief, infection control and making the next step clear.

Clinical assessment

What to tell us when you call

The more we understand before you arrive, the faster and better we can help. These are the things worth mentioning when you call.

Severe pain

Pain that keeps you awake or is not controlled with pharmacy pain relief. This helps us plan emergency dentistry around your real starting point, rather than relying on a generic treatment pathway.

Facial swelling

Swelling around the jaw, eye or neck needs prompt assessment. We explain what we find clearly, including where a more cautious or staged approach would protect the final result.

Trauma

Knocked-out, loosened or fractured teeth after an accident. Small details at this stage can change comfort, appearance and longevity, so we take time before recommending treatment.

Bleeding

Bleeding after an extraction that does not ease with pressure. The aim is a plan that feels considered, predictable and appropriate for your long-term oral health.
